Where Will Franck Kessie End up This Summer? 14.2 || webmaster
AC Milan is playing well, there is no doubt that in Serie A they are on fire and remain unbeaten with a streak of six wins, and Franck Kessie is definitely one of their star players, but it is rumoured that by the summer he will be heading for pastures new. It seems to be a foregone conclusion, but with more than one club eager to get their hands on this star midfielder the only real question is where he will be calling home. At freetips.com we are waiting with bated breath to see how this pans out, so in case you have missed it, here is what has been happening so far.
UK clubs Chelsea and Arsenal were the first to stake their interest, and for a while, it looked certain that a move to one of these top clubs was definitely on the cards. Both teams are reputed to be happy to stake around £30 million to secure this 22 year old, such is his talent. He has been at Milan now for two years, and they paid £32 million to bring him over to them, so it is clear that he is worth the price on his boots. While playing for AC Milan he has been out in 58 Serie A games and has been one of their most valuable members, so it came as a shock to some that the club was prepared to lose him.
However, it seems clear they are, and just when it looked likely that he was catching a flight to England, PSG threw in a curveball by making it clear that if Kessie is on the move, then it is going to be them that secures the player. Both Arsenal and Chelsea will be doing all they can to combat this latest interest, as neither club as managed to top the premier league and if new players were going to be the key for one of them, then it is fair to say Franck Kessie is a good bet. Arsenal has also slipped somewhat from the elite in Europe, so they are looking to regain some ground, and well, Chelsea hasn’t exactly set the pitch on fire this season and really could do with some new blood.
Paris Saint-German is undoubtedly of interest to many of the high reaching players as their record is solid, and currently, they are sitting pretty at the top of Ligue 1, ten points clear of nearest challenger LOSC. However, with more twists and turns than a mountain road, it has now emerged that the contract with Milan does not expire unto 2021 and head honcho Gennaro Gattuso has stated that actually, the team are far from happy to lose their star player and will be doing what they can to try and ensure the young player stays with them. It must be nice to be in such demand, and it is safe to say Franck Kessie can have a look at his options as there are certainly many of them.
Serie A: AC Milan 3:0 Cagliari - match report 10.2 || webmaster
Scorers: Ceppitelli og 12 (M), Paquetá 22 (M), Piatek 62 (M)
Lucas Paquetá and Krzysztof Piatek were both on target along with a bizarre own goal, as Milan crushed Cagliari to retain fourth place.
The pressure was on after Roma, Lazio and Atalanta all won, meaning anything less than a victory would see the Rossoneri drop from fourth place to seventh. Lucas Biglia was back on the bench for the first time since October, but Cristian Zapata, Pepe Reina, Mattia Caldara and Jack Bonaventura were still out of action. The Sardinians were hovering above the drop zone and made the trip without Cyril Thereau, Lucas Castro, Valter Birsa, Ragnar Klavan or Fabrizio Cacciatore.

There was only one point separating these teams in fifth and fourth respectively going in, but the Giallorossi were in crisis after a 7-1 Coppa Italia quarter-final defeat to Fiorentina midweek. Bryan Cristante and Steven Nzonzi were suspended, with Cengiz Under, Diego Perotti and Juan Jesus injured, so Daniele De Rossi had his first start in three months, Patrik Schick and Alessandro Florenzi stepped into the supporting trident. Gennaro Gattuso’s confidence was high, though, as they beat Napoli 2-0 in the Coppa on Tuesday with new buy Piatek bagging a brace. Cristian Zapata, Pepe Reina, Mattia Caldara, Lucas Biglia and Jack Bonaventura were still on the treatment table.
