Scorers: Menez pen 65, 75 (M)
A Jeremy Menez brace gave Milan their first win in over a month, beating Udinese in a game with two red cards and a phantom goal.
The Rossoneri were under pressure after four draws and a defeat, most recently their 1-1 Derby della Madonnina stalemate, so misfiring striker Fernando Torres was dropped in favour of Jeremy Menez as a False Nine with Keisuke Honda returning. Daniele Bonera’s ban expired, but Mattia De Sciglio, Alex, Sulley Muntari, Ignazio Abate and birthday boy Nigel de Jong were sidelined, so Marco van Ginkel got a rare start. Udinese were without a victory in five and missed Luis Muriel and Gabriel Silva, but Antonio Di Natale celebrated his 200th Serie A goal in 400 games last week. Ex-Inter Coach Andrea Stramaccioni returned to San Siro as an opponent.

A magnificent Jeremy Menez volley was wiped out by Joel Obi, as Roberto Mancini begins with a Milan derby draw.

He immediately scrapped the three-man defence for a 4-3-1-2 system with Mateo Kovacic behind the strikers, dropping Nemanja Vidic. Jonathan was injured, Gary Medel suspended and Hernanes only fit for the bench. Pippo Inzaghi had his first derby as a Coach, missing Alex, Ignazio Abate, Nigel de Jong and the banned Daniele Bonera.
