Is Gianluigi Donnarumma Ready to Move On? 22.3 || webmaster
Every good team needs a reliable goalkeeper. Indeed, that has been what Gianluigi Donnarumma has offered AC Milan. There is no doubt that he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Donnarumma is a regular in the team and is referred to as the number one goalkeeper. However, talks of a new contract are not moving forward right now. AC Milan does not have a lot of time if they wish to sign and keep Gianluigi Donnarumma. Indeed, there are other clubs around the world watching this situation very closely.
Talks Stall with Promising Young Goalkeeper
Back in 2015, AC Milan fans will remember when Gianluigi Donnarumma burst onto the scene. He made his debut at just 16 years old and he is the second-youngest goalkeeper to feature in Serie A. He even broke the record for playing with Under-21s national team in Italy, playing between the sticks at just 17 years old. Then he made his international debut for the senior squad at 17 too.
Let’s not forget that Gianluigi Donnarumma is only 22 years old. In these last few years, he has appeared over 200 times for the club. He has made world-class saves and won games for AC Milan. This is not a player that you can easily replace and goalkeepers have to be a trusted member of the squad. This has been something that Gianluigi Donnarumma has done over the years. The last thing that AC Milan wants to happen is to lose him to another club Indeed, his skills are likely to play a big part in Serie A odds for AC Milan.
Gianluigi Donnarumma was bought in 2014 for €250,000. Now, it is time for the club to negotiate on a new deal if they want to keep him. It is thought that AC Milan has offered Gianluigi Donnarumma a deal of £6 million a year. However, there have been no agreements made so far, which may be a worrying sign for the club. It is thought that Gianluigi Donnarumma and his agent are making big demands that might not be agreed with by AC Milan. For example, there are rumours that he would be looking for a deal that is worth £9.1 million a year.
It is believed that there are other top clubs waiting in the wings to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma. This includes Chelsea monitoring the situation closely. If he decides not to continue playing at AC Milan, it is thought that the English Premier League side are ready to pay £175,000 a week in order to entice the shot stopper to play in London. Of course, Chelsea would be very pleased with this signing as it would be a free transfer. Clubs in the past have also shown interest in Gianluigi Donnarumma. This includes Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain. There are three months left for AC Milan and Gianluigi Donnarumma to agree terms. Time will tell whether this happens or he decides to move on. Watch this space very carefully.
