Former AS Roma Chief Appointed AC Milan Sporting director
21.7 || webmaster

With AC Milan going through some backroom revamp to get them back to winning ways, started by appointing Arsenal’ Ivan Gazidis. Now they have further stretched their hands to acquire the services of AS Roma ex-chief Frederric Massara as their Sporting Director.

The football club is doing all they can in making sure that they get the right men for the team. They replaced Leonardo with their former player Paulo Maldini in the technical Director role.

Now the club has appointed Massara who seems to be the right choice as he understands the demands of the Serie A league. He has served AS Roma very well and he is buoyed to do the same in Milan.

AC Milan Anticipates a Brighter Future

Massara's appointment clearly means that AC Milan is all hands on deck to make sure that the new season start with them on the right track. Former AS Roma man’s talk clearly tell it all. His job is to make sure that he oversee all technical and sporting operations operations and he will be working together with Paolo Maldini.

As if that is not enough. There has been a real shuffle at the dugout. After not making it in the Champions league Gattusp was shown that the exit door making way for Marco Giampaolo joining the iconic football club from Sampdoria.

There are quite interesting times ahead for the Milan club and the fans might be in a jovial mood for the new season that is now weeks away from kick-starting.

The Best AC Milan Academy Graduate
21.7 || webmaster

AC Milan as a football club has lost its fear factor in Serie A and in Europe as a whole. Their reputation has crumbled and they have been outmuscled by teams such as Roma, Juventus and Florentina. It has been a bitter pill for AC Milan fans who have been praising the prominence of Rossoneri who took the Milan giants to a memorable 2006 Champions League victory.

During those days the club became very popular and it attracted some passionate young players to play for the club. It did not take time for the club to attract new talent. Nevertheless the real talent was within the club. Let’s take a look at some of the best AC Milan Academy graduates that made it in the top flight of European football.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang

It is a very sad reality that the Italian giants let an amazing talent slip through their fingers in a broad daylight. That what transpired when AC Milan sanctioned the departure of Aubameyang in 2012. The Gabon international is one of the players that were in the mix of AC Milan's Academy and it was surely an amazing group of talent. But their dreams of playing in the first eleven were merely rhetoric as they seek game time elsewhere.

Matteo Darmian

Matteo became a key figure in the AC Milan Academy. And he showed amazing signs of making it in the first team. Spending 10 years at the club academy Matteo Darmian had the spirit of Rossoneri in him. But it was very unfortunate that his talent was not very much appreciated.

Manchester United came into the picture to acquire the services of the unpolished player. But his fighting spirit enabled him to make it into the ranks of the Red Devils.

Above all he is a good example of what youthful creative players the AC Milan club can still produce at the top level.

Classic Derby Della Madonnina clashes Between AC Milan and Inter Milan
21.7 || webmaster

Just like any other football local derby match, his Milan derby is one of the fierce derby in the Italian Serie A league and in Europe at large. This one of the fixtures that has given football fans some unforgettable moments in Italian football. Despite the two teams crumbling in Europe they have been the European powerhouse as of late producing some scintillating performances that left most of the fans at the edge of their seats. Let’s take a look at some of the best derby moment between Internazionale and AC Milan.

Inter 0-6 Milan – 2001

The build up to this game came with both teams being level on points and they were both struggling at the middle of the Serie A table.

The match couldn't produce a competitive margin with Inter suffering an embarrassing result that showcased their mediocrity performance against AC Milan. Goals from, Gianni Comandini and a brace from Andriy Shevchenko, Ferderico Giunti and Serginho helped AC Milan to inflict a heaviest defeat in Inter's history. This saw lots of online sports betting fans losing money because they thought Inter Milan was gonna win, but ended up losing 6-0 to AC Milan.

Inter 3-2 Milan – 2005

This one will not be easily forgotten by any of the fans of both parties since it was the first derby after the infamous abandoned match. However, Inter had a lot of to do since they went into this game on the back foot as they have not beaten their local rivals in ten matches.

It was Adriano who opened the score for Inter after converting a penalty. Thereafter AC Milan also converted a penalty through Shevchenko to put the match on level terms. As the tension was heating and the atmosphere demanding better displays from the players. Obafemi Martins and Jaap Stam added to the score sheet before Adriano put Inter on the driving seat as the host went on to win the fast paced derby encounter.

Above all, the Milan derby is yet to bring back the glory days in the Seria A via some amazing displays.

AC Milan Greatest Players of All Time
21.7 || webmaster

After the Los Blancos Real Madrid, AC Milan is one of the most successful football clubs in Europe. They might have been performing under par in the past seasons. But they are a well decorated Italian club that has produced some top class performances with the best players in their history.

However, winning 7 Champions league titles, 8 Scudettos as well as 4 club world cups can only be done when a football club has a good group of players. And AC Milan has been filled with a dressing room full of good players. Here is to some of the greatest players that have made it to the best first XI of all time.

Goal Keeper- Nelson Dida

Till now it is very safe to say that this is Milan's weakest position ever. There have been several Italian goalies in the like of Giggi Buffon, Dino Zoff and Walter Zenga but none of the said goalkeepers played for AC Milan. But Dida was the best option for them. The media reported that the Brazilian international later lost his touch during the climax of his career. But he was nominated twice for Ballon D Or and he also won the FIFpro goalie of the year award.

Right Center Back – Alessandro Nesta

We can’t talk about John Terry being amongst the best defenders in the world without mentioning Alessandro Nesta. Nesta was well known for thwarting the lethal poles in a clean fashion. His prowess of clean marking made him to the best AC Milan greatest ever defender.

Left Center Back – Paolo Maldini

Making is AC Milan debut at the age of 16 Maldini and one of the most loyal players after Steven Gerrard. Playing 902 matches for AC Milan that surely tells you that he was some player who was dedicated to his football career.

Right Central Midfielder – Ruud Gullit

Ruud Gullit might have been overshadowed by Van Basten he was one of the players you would need in your squad.

With his physique, speed and vision he was the real deal for money when it matters most. And surely he is the wild card for any AC Milan best XI.

No European Adventure for AC Milan This Season
8.7 || webmaster

The season hasn’t even started and already it’s bad news for AC Milan fans. The team will not be playing in the Europa League 2019/20, following a breach of UEFA’s financial fair play (FFP) regulations. It’s a decision that has allowed Torino, who finished seventh, to replace them and AS Roma to go straight into the group stage.

What’s going on?

The club have struck up a deal with UEFA and agreed to sit out the tournament for one year, following the recognition that it had been overspending. Under UEFA financial fair play rules, clubs are not allowed to make losses of more than €30 million euro over three seasons, but the association deemed the club to have done this when they spent 200 million on transfers between 2015 and 2017, followed by further spending in 2018.

It’s not the first time that the club has come into conflict with UEFA over its financial conduct, but the club appealed against the first set of sanctions successfully and avoided a two-year ban. This new decision will give AC Milan to tidy up its finances.

What happens next?

The decision will give the club the chance to get their game in order, too. Last season, they had a disastrous campaign under Gennaro Gattuso. They went out in the group stages, finishing third behind Real Betis and Olympiakos. Gattuso resigned after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Things could be different now that Marco Giampaolo is in charge and he’ll be focusing on Serie A, which will give the new coach time to settle in and work with his players without the pressure of European competition hanging over him just now. Both the club and the fans will be hoping he can restore AC Milan to greatness — and to bring back beautiful football to the club. AC Milan haven’t finished in the top four in Serie A since 2013.

One thing is for sure, though. Giampaolo won’t have it easy. Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sazzi have both returned to the league, taking charge of Inter Milan and Juventus respectively, and Giampaolo is expecting it to be a competitive season. He also considers the overall mentality of many teams to have changed to the extent that even smaller clubs come to the club attack-minded.

Who do you fancy to win it?

With so much happening off the pitch in Serie A, it all makes live betting online extremely exciting, to say the least, and you may well fancy AC Milan to take the league title. The coach has spent four seasons in the top flight now — enough to make it happen.

His style of play at Sampdoria has earned him a whole lot of praise, with tactics that earned the team a reputation for dominating possession, allowing them to build a strong defensive record and a solid attacking one as well. It’s all about keeping the defence compact and organised; passing — with lots of short passes to open up spaces — and pressing in the midfield; and making the attack count. Hopefully, he can make it work for AC Milan.
